Collapse Weave Workshop in Napa

Silverado Handweavers and Spinners guild is hosting Marta Shannon in a two-day exploration of simple collapse weave. Each student will design and weave a scarf using differential shrinkage. We will complete the process through the washing stage. Fun and spontaneous results! Students will warp and weave with an array of cottons, tencels, rayons and merinao wools that Marts will provide. Students should be comfortable with warping their own looms and have some weaving experience.

Bring a 4 shaft loom, warping board or mill (there will be some to share) and your usual weaving supplies – shuttles, bobbins, reed/heddle hook, scissors, etc.

The workshop fee is $115 for Silverado guild members and $140 for non-guild members. The fee includes the materials to make a scarf.

The workdshop will be held at the Napa Senior Center, 1500 Jefferson Street, Napa.
