Dotty Calabrese to Teach Beginning Weaving Workshop

 
This 3-day intensive class will introduce the student to the basics of pattern weaving and color/texture weaving, using a 4-shaft table or floor loom.  Students will complete several pre-warped samples as well as designing, warping, and weaving an entire scarf.  Materials fee includes materials for samples and scarf.  Table looms and one floor loom will be provided.  However, if you own a table loom, you may choose to bring it to work on.

Weave several samples on different looms.
Weave a scarf of your own design.

Saturday July 2 through Monday July 4

Time:  8:30 – 5:30 daily (with a one-hour lunch break)
Fee: $250, plus a materials fee of $50
 
Class Limited to 7 students

Dotty Calabrese holds an M.A. degree in education, specializing in art education, from Stanford University.  In addition to being a professional weaver and an elementary school teacher for over 35 years, Dotty has been a polymer clay artist for 20 years.  She has taught hand weaving, natural dye, and polymer clay classes to both adults and children.  She is currently the Handweaving Teacher at the Waldorf of the Peninsula High School in Cupertino, CA.   Visit Dotty’s website at http://www.craftswomen.com/Dotty/
