Spinning Silk with Sara Lamb

Sara Lamb will be giving a one-day workshop on Spinning Silk for the Redwood Guild on Thursday, May 2, 2013. The workshop will be held in Santa Rosa with the exact location to be announced.

Sara Lamb is a longtime hand spinner, weaver and dyer. She is known to be an excellent teacher, so here’s your chance for a one-on-one wonderful experience using her methods of spinning silk yarns. Participants will spin several types and preps of silk, which Sara will supply. Students should be capable spinners, and bring their fastest wheel, or spindles, and a few extra bobbins. Lazy Kates, niddy noddies, ball winders and skein winders are all welcome but optional.

The class will be held with a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 16 students. The cost of the workshop will be $50 to $60 based on the number of participants. There will be a materials fee of $35 per person payable to Sara Lamb on the day of the workshop. There will be a sign-up sheet at our next guild meeting on April 3rd. Registration will be confirmed upon receiving a deposit of $35. The workshop will be open to non-guild members after April 4th if the maximum of 16 is not met from our guild members. Registration will close by April 14 in order to prepare workshop packets.
