More Convergence Loaner Looms Needed!

Convergence 2018 will be held in Reno July 6 – 12 offering a great opportunity for our CNCH members to mingle with other fiber enthusiasts who will be traveling via planes and trains to take advantage of the international comradery, exhibits, and shopping, as well exceptional educational opportunities such a gathering can offer.

To help those traveling long distances please consider renting a loom to a fellow weaver anxious to take a workshop if:
1) you won’t be taking any workshops requiring a loom (or are taking a workshop requiring a loom for only some of those dates), or
2) you have an extra portable loom, or
3) you cannot attend Convergence but would like to help someone who is not able to bring a loom with them.

As further detailed in the Winter 2017 issue of CNCHnet, Barbara Cabrol of the Sacramento Weavers and Spinners Guild will be facilitating equipment rentals by connecting potential lenders with individuals requesting looms. A rental agreement will then be prepared and signed by both parties. Prepaid rent of $40 for one day, $75 for two, and $95 for three will be given to the lender at time of loom delivery. As equipment is delivered it will be checked in, labeled, and stored in a secure room at the Peppermill anytime the equipment is not in use.

Looms requested include rigid heddle looms and four to eight plus shaft portable floor and table looms, including one reed appropriate for the workshop. If you can help, please contact Barbara.
