			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Saturday, Feb 4, Polly Jacobs-Giacchina will speak at Loom and Shuttle Guild in San Francisco.  Polly is a fiber artist from Southern California whose passion is textiles in sculptural form using hand weaving techniques.  She continually uses shape and structure to through her twined sculptures and wall hangings.  Her work is shown in galleries and museums in juriend and invitational exhibits.  She has been published in Fiber Arts Magazine, American Craft, Craft Arts International, Basketry Traditions and Beyond and 500 Baskets. <p>Loom and Shuttle Guild meets at St. John&#8217;s Church in San Francisco, 501 Laguan Honda Blvd.  There is a business meeting at 10AM followed by the talk at 11AM.</p>

Included will be a technique for weaving 3 or 4-treadling block drafts (which usually requires 12 or 16 treadles) on no more than 10 treadles (with no more than 2 treadles pressed simultaneously and no retying of treadles). Besides extensive handouts, Pat will make available a couple dozen profile drafts and several full drafts of her 8-shaft weavings as WIF drafts, which any weaving program can open and manipulate. </p>

<p>This rug was made using some of the twining techniques Martha unraveled while studying the Anasazi sandals.  The rug was shown at CNCH 2008 in Sacramento.</p>
