Wear your art on your sleeve! Join us Saturday night for a private fashion show at the upscale McHenry Museum, just a short walk from the Convention Center. This special night will glitter with garments and textile artists scattered throughout the Museum, with hors d’oeuvres, adult beverages, and the opportunity to discuss inspirations, challenges and special techniques directly with the maker.

THE SITE: MODESTO AND THE DOUBLETREE

Modesto is unique.  Classic community murals, statues, plazas and parks reveal its significance as a birthplace of modern rock and roll and the iconic ‘50’s spirit.  Showcased in movies such as American Graffiti, and the television show Happy Days, the streets of downtown are designated an “Historic Cruise Route”.

Attractions such as the Gallo Center for the Arts, and Downtown Plaza are adjacent to the Conference site’s Modesto Centre Plaza.

Modesto is easily accessible. Located along California State Route 99, it is 1-1/2 hours south of the international airport in Sacramento (SAC), served by Amtrak rail service between Bakersfield and Oakland or Sacramento and by MAX (Modesto Area Express) public transit service with connections to the Altamont Commuter Express train station in Lathrop and the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.

In April, spring temperatures in Modesto are in the comfortable low 70’s in the day and slip to a cooling high 40’s at night.
