CNCHnet . . . The Textile Arts Webzine of the Conference of Northern California Handweavers

The Next Time…

I hope you’ve enjoyed what we’ve published in this issue.  We’ve barely scratched the surface on how we felt, and I’d like to hear about how you approach felting and what you create with the technique. I’m also looking for articles on marketing what you make.

Marketing is something that many of us approach–actually back into–incidentally.  After everyone of your family and friends have been ‘gifted’ with scarves, shawls, afghans, etc. what do you do with what you create?

What works, or hasn’t worked, for you?  Do you go to craft shows, farmers markets, boutiques or co-ops?  Have you tried selling on-line?  How do you determine what to charge?
If you have a booth at a craft show, how do you arrange your merchandise to entice customers?  What do you do to make your work stand out?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Also, if you would like to  comment on any of our articles or you would like some information or clarification on something we have published, send me an e-mail. We will publish your missive and any clarification, if needed in a Comments and Commentary Column (also know as Letters to the Editor).
