Winter 2018

This is CNCHnet’s last issue of the year!  And what a tumultuous year it has been for me and many others as Northern California seems to have been burning most of the time.  However, the rainy season is upon us and, hopefully, that will give us time to catch our collective breaths and work on the new normal.

For me that means my husband and I are almost settled in a new house, I have the beginnings of a new studio, and soon I will be able to concentrate on developing new work.  What will a new year mean for you?

This issue of CNCHnet brings you information about past and future Fiber activities.  Be sure to check out the date for signing up for the 2019 Conference at Sonoma State as it will sell out quickly.

Are you a spinner?  Check out Mimi Luebbermann’s article about learning to choose the right wool and to spin for a specific project.

Love Color? Read about making your own dyes from local materials with Judi Pettite.

Interested in old fiber techniques?  Laura Pierce talks about rug hooking.

Want to make a political statement with your work? Make a blanket and be part of a movement that says we are a country of immigrants and we welcome newcomers to our midst.

Enough said!  Time to get comfortable and read this issue of CNCHnet!
