Twined Jewelry

 

Using the basketry technique twining, the workshop will concentrate on small format weaving. Distinctive individual beads and brooches will be created with colors chosen by the student. Varied patterns and textures will be learned. There will be time to weave multiple beads and brooches, producing fun jewelry. Students are encouraged to bring (optional) their favorite colors of floss and any small, thin smooth yarns or metallic threads.

Materials fee: $25 Waxed linen and some embroidery floss and other components needed, will be supplied.

Polly Jacobs Giacchina weaves large sculptural work with natural materials. She seeks to reinterpret nature through new shapes, forms and a mix of materials.
