Instructional Tour of the Juried Fashion Show

Daryl Lancaster

3 hour workshop: Sunday 9-12

Discover an interactive exploration behind the “seams” of the garments from the Fashion Show. Experience a technical critique of the inside finishing techniques as well as the outside appearance and fit. This kind of experience provides the participants with many ideas for finishing, what works and what doesn’t, and a terrific “behind the seams” look to view first hand some of the choices used by experienced fiber artists. Always an HGA Convergence highlight, this seminar presents a rare opportunity to see inside the fashion show garments on exhibition. Participants experience the ultimate show and tell. “My goal is to have participants look at the finishing techniques on their own work and assess the appropriateness, and level of innovation and creativity. Sometimes the simplest of garments and finishing details can be the most effective. Sometimes the details make the piece. “
