Novelty Spinning – Bouclé Yarns

3 hour workshop: Saturday 9-12

 

We will work with various types of wool and animal fibers, and will make bouclé yarns using several spinning techniques. The yarns will be made using wool and mohair fibers, and will utilize binder threads of various types. The resulting yarns will be worsted to bulky weight and will be useful for knitting, crocheting and weaving.

 

Prerequisite: Able to spin a consistent singles yarn.

Materials Fee: $15 includes spinning fiber and other class materials.

Students to Bring: A spinning wheel in good working order. If you have a Woolee Winder, please bring a standard flyer as well. Bring at least 3-4 bobbins, hand cards, a Lazy Kate, and sewing thread in black or gray color.
