Productive Spinning (FULL CLASS)

Stephenie Gaustad

6 hour workshop: Friday 1-4 to Saturday 9-12

Have you found yourself in the situation of needing more than a couple bobbins full of handspun, wondering if there isn’t a faster way to do this? Do you want to tackle large projects and hesitate to do so because you think the task will mean you will be treadling the same yarn for “years”?! The focus of this lively presentation is to present productive techniques and to review old, perhaps not so productive, habits and make new choices. A small change can result in more yarn.

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE, ADVANCED

Prerequisite: Novice spinners are welcome if they have produced a large finished item from their handspun such as a sweater, jacket, blanket or rug.

Materials Fee: $20, which covers all spinning fiber and handouts.

Students to Bring: A functional spinning wheel, 3 samples of your handspun yarn, oil bottle, notebook, pen/pencil, pocket calculator
