Fiber Tales, Down the Rabbit Hole
Conference events to pitch you into the fabulous world of fiber and fun.
Thursday evening’s kick off will inspire and encourage you to leap down that rabbit hole. Our guest speaker, Christine Hall, will take you on your first adventure. Her journey in fiber has spanned 20 years, and she will share it with you. Live models will showcase her creations, as she takes us along her path of overcoming a rare physical challenge and finding her inner textile artist. Her fellow guild members love her uplifting message — and you will, too.
Our “Curious Scavenger Hunt” will follow. You will have until Saturday evening to complete this adventure. A prize will be awarded of course!
Friday evening, it’s “Hats Off” as the silent auction for the Mad Hatter’s Hat Grant Fundraiser will come to a close. A Tea Party Extraordinaire, will delight and challenge teams to embellish a “Naked Hedgehog.” You just have to be there! People’s Choice will determine the winning team’s hedgehog for a cluster of prizes.
Saturday evening, wear your finest handmade creation to the Fashion Show!!!!! There’s no runway to intimidate you. Instead, we’ll announce some topsy-turvy categories to get you out on the floor strutting your stuff. It’s fun, it’s informal — it’s 100% Wonderland!
A classic highlight of our annual conference comes on Saturday night with our Walkabout. You get a chance to peek inside each classroom to see what your fellow attendees have been learning. You can chat with the students and teachers and find inspiration again and again as you make your way around Asilomar.
Galleries will be open through the conference to show off both the Return of Return to Sender and The 2025 Grant Kit creations. Once again, People’s Choice will determine the prize winners .
Items for both galleries and the fundraiser will be turned in at the registration desk.
