The Sacramento Weavers and Spinners Guild (SWSG) had an excellent September program. Liz Shott, a former educational leader, provided an informative and entertaining lecture on Dorothy Liebes and her involvement in the 1939 exposition at Treasure Island. Ms, Shott is researching and writing a biography of Dorothy Liebes, a 20th century textile designer, who was a famous, influential weaver and fabric designer for Hollywood, swanky public places, and high-end clothing and interior designers.
In October SWSG will host a presentation and workshop from Sharlet Elms, long-time weaver and mentor, on Fabrics That Move , such as collapse and waffle weave.
