Welcome to our webpage for Textile Games, your upcoming unique, fun and fabulous conference and retreat opportunity for 2013! YES, the 61st annual Conference of Northern California Handweavers is well underway with many special events planned!

Like many of us, you’ve only just arrived home from the 2012 Conference in Oakland, and you’re unpacking your notes, your handmade samples, and admiring those assorted treasures you purchased from the Vendor’s Hall all the while trying to catch up with your home chores and family after the extended weekend!
WHEW! Take a long deep breath and then slowly exhale…….ahhhhhhhhh. Better?
Okay now read on… for the present, the only thing you NOW must do is mark your calendars for May 31st – June 2nd, 2013, and then go back to catching your breath and catching up on your chores at hand. After that, start planning both your next adventure and extended stay surrounded in the beauty of Olympic Valley with your family and/or friends!
June is the perfect time, before the crowds, to enjoy the Lake Tahoe area, and the 2013 Committee is thrilled to announce that The Resort at Squaw Creek, a world-class full-service destination facility, has extended our great room rates to all registrants 3 days before and 3 days after conference so that your family or friends can join you for a fantastic mini-vacation! If you didn’t receive one of our postcards at the Oakland conference, you’re in-luck as we’ve posted a copy here (front, back). Our postcard explains that the 2013 conference is a small format conference, explains our education focus with a list of our instructors and the disciplines covered, some of our special activities planned, how you can go for your own gold, silver or bronze medal by participating in any of our Textile Games, and more!
While you’ll have to wait until our liaison luncheon, September 22, 2012, to learn all about our classes, (48 “hands-on” mini-workshops, and 12 inter-active seminars), we do want to tell you about a few items –
First of all, to learn about the Liaison Luncheon and possibly your weekend get-away, at conference room-rates, while at The Resort in Tahoe, click here to read our save the date letter and details.
Secondly, if you’re interested in applying for 1 of 30 available spaces for the Tailgate Market on Friday, (1 – 5 p.m.), May 31st, 2013 in The Resort’s valet parking lot, click here to download our Exhibitor’s Tailgate Market Application. Our Tailgate Market is open to instructors, registrants, and local textile artists to sell their handcrafted items, books, or videos that relate to our craft. In-lieu of an “exhibitor” fee, each exhibitor will donate an inventory item as a door prize for our drawings during conference.
