Volunteers and Angels

Volunteers have more fun!

The CNCH conferences are all volunteer-run and coordinated. Helping out gives you a chance to get together with your favorite instructors and unique vendors, meet people from other guilds, plus it’s an opportunity to get to know your own guild members better.

Indicate your availability and the kind of volunteerism that you are interested in, on the registration form.   Then plan to join us in making this the best conference ever.

Class Angels: Dust off your wings, because you are responsible for helping your favorite instructor get set-up and for seeing that all the equipment works. You’ll be checking people in, collecting any material fees and helping out during the class. You may be requested to receive boxes if instructors ship materials ahead. You must be registered in the class to be the Class Angel.

Transportation Assistants: Attention Road Warriors – work with the instructor to provide transportation to and from the conference in Modesto from the Sacramento Airport.

Set-up & Clean-up: Like to keep it organized? Assist our committee chairmen and/or vendors with setting up and end-of-conference clean up.

Registration Assistants: You are the first person that participants meet – their welcome and first impression of the conference! Your tasks include passing out the registration packets and “goodie bags” to registrants, selling day entry passes (so you will also be responsible for handling money). A big smile is essential!

Information/Help Desk: Be our “Information Guru”. Answer questions about class location, schedules, and sign in our volunteers.

Door Monitors/Ticket Takers: Are you a people person? You and a partner will be stationed at the Marketplace & Galleries entrance checking name badges and day entry passes, and directing anyone without proper ID or day ticket to the Registration Desk.

Gallery Booth Sitters: You’ll get the white glove treatment to keep an eye on the exhibits and answer questions people might have about the displays.

Fashion Show Helpers: Field to Fiber to Fashion. Didn’t bring an entry? Be part of it anyway, as one of our multi-tasking hosts.

Security/Rovers: Help support our committee chairmen, vendors and galleries with booth sitting, bringing a snack or running an errand. You will roam the Marketplace and class areas protecting merchandise and displays and assisting as needed.
